The god of money is the symbol of power in the Matrix.

Centuries ago imperial Rome finally stopped the rebel slaves led by Spartacus. After encircling and defeating them with their mighty army, they put them to death by hanging them on an endless line of crosses along the Appian Way from Capua to Rome.

Centuries later in the Matrix, the “core” principle of today’s super power (money) with its far reaching power, will not be abandoned to the whims of a small group of the “fanatic” followers of Jesus. Every rebellion against this established power must always be stifled immediately, before it becomes contagious.

If the Matrix’s nobility of darkness permitted an open rebellion against passive acceptance of this economic powers enslavement of humanity, it would be a sign of weakness, and unforgivable by the elite. It would encourage others to rebel against this dictatorship ruled by the “money god”.

Today Jesus tells me, yes, even to me living in the Matrix, a world ruled by the “money god”:

“You cannot serve two masters, for either you hate the one and will love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both the Creator God and the Matrixian God of money. Make a clear-cut decision!” (See Matthew 6:24)
