THE COSMIC ENCOUNTER
The sea has turned to glass.
No wave, no breath of air.
Its surface sparkles like an infinite diamond,
each pane etched with flames of light that dance slowly.
I walk, and my steps make no sound:
as if Creation itself were holding me up.
Ahead, the Father.
There is no time, no distance.
Only His face, growing within my eyes
until all else fades away.
When He takes me into His arms,
the universe holds its breath.
I feel His fingers interlace behind my back,
steady, firm, like eternal roots.
His hand moves upward along my spine,
and the touch makes my whole being vibrate,
like a taut string tuned to the sound of the Eternal.
His warm cheek brushes mine.
The contact is so real it pierces me more than a thousand lightning bolts,
yet it is sweet—infinitely sweet.
And in that instant, heaven explodes.
The sea of glass becomes an ocean of liquid light.
The stars begin to sing.
The planets change their colors,
and a wind that is no wind sweeps through the galaxies,
carrying the echo of the embrace to every creature.
My heart beats in rhythm with His,
and I understand that the universe itself is breathing with us.
Every gravitational wave,
every ray of light,
every particle vibrates with a single frequency: the Father’s love.
And as His hand remains steady behind my neck,
I know there will never be separation again.
My name is engraved upon His skin,
and His upon mine.
And the whole cosmos bears witness.
